Allergies, especially pollen associated respiratory allergies are widespread all over the world with a tendency to increase further. Changes associated with climate change, in particular, the increase of atmospheric carbon dioxide and global ground temperature, will very likely result in an increased pollen load leading to an increase in allergic pollen sensitization and pollen associated allergic diseases. In 2014 was informed in more detail about these possible relationships in this journal. In 2017, the author gave a lecture on this topic focusing on ragweed pollen at the German Allergy Congress. The following article summarizes the lecture contents.
