To the Editor: Haines and Ebi (Jan. 17 issue)(1) note that "the pervasive threats to health posed by climate change demand decisive actions from health professionals and governments to protect the health of current and future generations." Nurses make up the largest segment of the global health care workforce and, in partnership with other medical professionals, they can address the health effects of climate change through policy and advocacy efforts on behalf of populations worldwide.
