The methodology in GHG inventory guidelines provided by the intergovernmental panel on Climate Change ( IPCC) ,was used to estimate the carbon dioxide ( CO_2 ) emissions and emission intensity of electronic energy consumption in China from 2001 to 2010. The characteristics of spatial disparity and temporal change of carbon emissions and carbon emission intensity from electronic energy consumption were analyzed on national, provincial and industrial level. The results indicate that: ( 1) Total carbon emission of electronic energy consumption in China has increased from 0. 3035Gt in 2001 to 0. 7454Gt in 2010,an annual increase of 9. 99%. While carbon emission intensity has decreased from 276kg /( 10~4 yuan) to 182kg /( 10~4 yuan) ,an annual decrease of 4. 42%. ( 2) The carbon emission of secondary industrial electronic power consumption in China has accounted for the largest portion of total carbon emissions over the past decades, the annual average growth rate of 9. 99%,the carbon emission were 0. 5488 Gt in 2010,account for 73. 62%. Also the carbon emission intensity of secondary industry were the heaviest in all industrial sectors, the annual average decline rate of 9. 99%, the carbon intensity were 341 kg /( 10~4 yuan) in 2010. The manufacturing of secondary industry is the main factor causing the carbon emission and carbon emission intensity, while tertiary industry's effect on reducing the carbon emissions and carbon emission intensity exceeds the impact of secondary industry on it.
