According to the annual average temperature, annual maximum and minimum temperature, mean temperature and annual precipitation data of 1960 ~ 2011 from the representative meteorological stations in Turpan area, Xinjiang, we analyzed the climate change characteristics in Turpan for the past 52 years. The results show that: the climate in Turpan city was becoming warm, the annual average temperature rising rate was of 0. 475℃ / 10a. The annual mean temperature in the recent 10 years increased by 1. 75℃ compared with that of 1960's. The annual average temperature of 2007 was the highest in historical period; the average temperature was of 16. 3℃. The precipitation change in Turpan city was not obvious; the linear tendency of annual average precipitation rate was 0. 225mm/10a. Year of 1986 had the most precipitation of 86. 0mm. The temperature rising and precipitation reducing caused great negative impact on human industrial and agricultural production.
