The spatial and temporal distribution of thunderstorm under the background of global climate change was investigated according to the observational thunderstorm dataset at 26 meteorological stations in Tibet region during 19712010,along with statistical method such as REOF (Rotated Empirical Oahogonal Function)and Wavelets analysis. The results show that the thunderstorm event has four anomalous spatial patterns in last 40 years under the global climate change, such as western pattern, northern pattern, center pattern and eastern pattern. The frequency of thunderstorm events was decreasing for all of patterns especially for central and eastern pattern. And the decreasing rate are from 0.3 to 9.0 times·(10a)~(-1). The frequency of thunderstorm expressed 13-year and 22-year periods. The thunderstorm was serious in 1970s and 1990s and it is decreasing in recent years.
