The future of the philosophy of technology on Earth is clouded by emerging realities that statesmen, citizens and scholars find all but impossible to confront. Included among the embarrassing issues is the fact that modern technological civilization rests upon a one time only bubble of cheap fossil fuels that is now running dry and for which there are no adequate alternatives. Another troubling problem is that of an already urgent global climate crash due to uncontrolled emissions of C02 gas that world societies steadfastly refuse to curtail. Problems of this kind raise the question: Upon which planet will the philosophy of technology flourish?
