Climatic change characteristics of fog days were analyzed based on the observation data from 6 meteorological stations in Fuyang during 1960 - 2009. Results show that, fog days occur more frequently in the east part than in the west part; fog days increased obviously in the past 50 years; the number of fog days occur most in the cold season(October to next March) ; fogs occur frequently at 03: 00 to 07: 00,and dissipate generally at about 09: 00; the duration of most fog is within 3 hours; the appropriate temperature, relative humidity and wind speed benefit the fog formation; with climate warming, the fog days rise during the cold season, and the trend of change is opposite in the warm season(April to September) ; decadal trend of fog days and air temperature has a good consistency, with the inter-annual variability of fog days and relative humidity being consistent.
