The global average surface temperature has increased remarkably in the past 100 years. The impact of global warming on organisms caused concern around the world. Like other creatures,insects are also influenced by global warming. Such as the rapid breeding development,genetic variation,the decreased population diversity,the expanded distribution area,the population explosion,alien invasion, extinction and so on. The insect response caused by global warming has potential risks on agriculture, forestry and human health. This paper introduces how insect respond to global warming from different aspects, including phenology, distribution, development, reproduction, morphology, behavior, physiology and molecular level. In addition,this paper discusses the current and future research directions,in order to provide guidance to insects scientific management strategy (Such as population monitoring,model prediction,risk assessment,genetic diversity and inheritance of resistance) under the condition of climate change.
