Under the impacts of global climate change, meteorological disasters such as rainstorm occur frequently in recent years and have led to several severe disruptions of transport network over the last few years in urban areas. In order to minimize the risk of potential losses of life and properties, a method is developed to identify topology vulnerability of road network for a range of rainfall scenarios. This paper reviews the theories and methods of vulnerability analysis and defines the concept of vulnerability of road network considering the intensity of rainfall within the content of this paper. It establishes a comprehensive assessment indeximportance of nodes and edgesby combining thebetweenness and traffic flowto find out the fragile source of road network considering the intensity of rainfall. And then, the assessment index mincuts frequency vectoris introduced into the assessment of topology vulnerability. It provides the scientific basis for disaster control and reduction of the urban road network.
