【Objective】Effects of climate warming and rainfall on overwintering regions of Spodoptera exigua Hubner(Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) in China were studied to provide references for forecasting and controlling this species.【Method】 Climate change scenarios and Kriging within Climex and ArcGis were used to analyze the effects of climate warming and rainfall on overwintering regions of S. exigua in China.【Result】The results showed that the northern overwintering boundary of S. exigua shifted northward after winter temperature had risen 1℃, 2℃ and 3℃. However, the northern overwintering boundary of S. exigua could be less affected by rainfall(-60%,-40%,-20%, 0%, +20%, +40% and +60%), which mainly influenced the fitness of this species in overwintering and perennial damage regions.【Conclusion】The northern overwintering boundary of S. exigua shifts northward after rise in temperature during winter while rainfall affects the fitness of this species in overwintering and perennial damage regions.
