The visiting behavior of Apis cerana and characteristics of reproduction of rape were studied in early spring in northwest Sichuan basin, using the method of field survey and stochastic or mark recording. Weather condition of the study period was also recorded. The results showed that the visiting frequency was (11.99 0.75) flowers·min~(- 1), visiting time of per flower was (4.77 0.50) s. The weather was various and the visiting of bees was not stable, sometimes there was no bees foraging on the flowers. Unimodal pattern was observed in diurnal activity rhythms. Many factors could affect the activity of foragers, temperature was the main factor, and it was significantly and positively related to the numbers of foraging bees(R~2 = 0.317,P < 0.01). Extending the flower longevity was the important strategy to adapt the pollinator scarcity in low temperature days. Number of seeds of siliques in low and mid position of branches were different (T = 2.268,P < 0.05), the former had 9.1 percent more than the latter, but both of them had effective grain production. It is meaningful to ensure the crop production by focusing on management of flowering stage and bees conservation under the background of climate change.
