To cope with climate change is one of the most widely recognized scientific issues today. To help guide the general public,it is essential to investigate their perception of climate change.Comparison and analysis of several previous studies on the issue have revealed that most Chinese citizens are aware of global warming, are personally concerned with the issue, but they deeply trust and heavily rely on the government to cope with climate change. The Chinese public has only very vague understanding of the scientific substance of climate change, and of the causes and mechanisms behind it.There are also problems with existing studies, such as biased sampling. With the above analysis two suggestions are provided.Multidisciplinary research should be conducted, with larger and more representative samples.More effective media system should be established to spread scientific knowledge on climate change.
