To shed light on the characteristics of climate change in the Northern area of China, and to promote the meteorological disaster forecast based on different scales,we analyzed the variation characteristics of temperature trends over time, variation trends of temperature in different seasons, and the abrupt temperature change within this period with t-test method by using the data information of daily average temperature, daily average maximum temperature and daily average minimum temperature during 1951-2010 that were monitored by the general national weather station in Saihan district of Hohhot city. The results showed that the temperature symbolized an obvious rising trend, and the calefacient tendency of daily average minimum temperature was much more significant than that of daily average temperature and daily average maximum temperature. The increasing intensity in winter was the most severe among four seasons. An obviously abrupt change of warming was occurred in the middle and the late years of the 20th century in Hohhot city, and it was earlier that the abrupt point of warming occurred in winter than in the other seasons. The warming abrupt point in Hohhot city was synchronous with that in northern and northeast China in past 60 years, which was earlier than the average levels in nationwide and worldwide, furthermore, the calefacient tendency in Hohhot was much more violent.
