As one of the most significant strategic resources in China,Salt Lake Resources play important roles in the economic and social development. With the increasing development efforts in recent years, coupled with the impact of climate changes, salt lake resources systems are experiencing dramatic changes, and the environmental impacts of brine industry is becoming increasingly striking. In order to better understand the evolving patterns and mechanism of changes of modern salt lakes,it is critical to obtain accurate and dynamic data by monitoring.Aiming to establish a monitoring and pre-warning systems in line with the fundamental characteristics of salt lake resources systems, firstly this study frames the concept of integrated dynamic monitoring systems of salt lakes under the guidance of the sustainable theory and systematic theory, and then multiple monitoring factors are carefully selected from interconnected resource, environment and production system based on their significance to sustainable development.Focused on the optimized layout of monitoring stations and methods of integrating the multi-source data, the study also elaborates the principles, the structure, operation technique of monitoring, warning models and warning levels. The results of the study addresses the issue of lacking monitoring systems of salt lakes in China, which contribute to the sustainable development of brine industry in Qinghai Provence as well as western China.
