Currently, the wetlands present landscape fragmentation on a global scale. In order to explore the evolution rule of wetland landscape, the simulation model of wetland landscape has become one of the most important methods that simulate and predict the changes of wetland landscape in the future. Our study analyzed the driving factors of wetland landscape changes and summed up the simulation models of wetland landscape as the wetland landscape model based on process and pattern. The wetland landscape models based on process (PBS, SWEDI, BTELSS, WLS, etc.) pay particular emphasis on ecological process of wetland landscape changes. However, the basic data of the models are not easy to monitor and the models are difficult to model and promote. The wetland landscape models based on pattern (CA-Markov, ANN, CLUE-S, GM, etc) usually depend on the general models of land use, which pay more attention to the pattern changes of wetland landscape and fail to give full consideration to the ecological process. And the study makes prospects on the research of the simulation models of wetland landscape. Initially, it should strengthen the quantitative study of driving mechanism for wetland landscape. Secondly, it should promote wetland landscape process models coupled with pattern models. Thirdly, it should attach importance to scale extrapolation for the models of wetland landscape. Finally, it should improve the universality of simulation models for wetland landscape in order to predict the landscape evolution rules for wetland on different regional scales under the background of global change.
