Palynological analyses combined with AMS~(14)C dating were carried out for a gravity core of QZDSZK02 from Quanzhou Bay, Fujian Province, East China, and the palaeovegetation and palaeoclimate during Late Holocene were reconstructed. Among them 60 species (including variation) were identified, which mainly included arboreal pollen, fern spore and herb pollen. According to the Sporo-pollen characteristics, four assemblages were recognized. At the same time, four stages about vegetation change and climate fluctuation were reconstructed. In addition, the rise and fall of Pinus were closely related to temperature in Quanzhou. Furthermore, the transgression during Late Holocene may be resulted from the decrease supply subsidence of sediment or the tectonic subsidence of coastal area, and not the result of sea level rise.
