The types,mechanisms and scales of the CO_2 degassing from volcanoes in various tectonic domains are obviously different from domain to domain.Under the context of global warming,quantitative studies on CO_2 fluxes released from various types of volcanoes,simulation and calculation of the origin and evolution of volcanic gases are significantly critical both to estimate the contribution of the increase of greenhouse gases in atmosphere provided by the degassing of the geological source and to understand the deep carbon cycle in earth's interior.Significant progresses of researches on the release of CO_2 in the global volcanic fields have been made in many aspects in recent years,especially in the methods of quantitative studies on the flux of released CO_2 in volcanic fields,the origin and dynamic background judgement of the volcanic gases,and the characteristics of the relaesed CO_2 from volcanoes in various tectonic regions.In this paper,the latest achievements of researches on the release of CO_2 from volcanic fields in various tectonic domains have been comprehensively aummaried and advances of studies on the release of CO_2 from typical Cenozoic volcanic fields in China have been introduced in details.
