Zhalong Wetland, which is located in poor meteorological conditions, sensitive area of the global change, and fragile ecological environment, has a poor health in recent decades. Based on data of Landsat and HJ, we took Zhalong Wetland as an example and tried to identify change of land use/cover patterns and its climate response mechanism from 2000 to 2017 by using decision tree method, object-oriented classification, GIS spatial analysis, linear fitting method, correlation analysis and so on. This paper would provide data and methods for wetland comprehensive monitoring and evaluation of ecologic meteorology. The results were as followed. Marshland was the main land cover type in Zhalong Wetland. Its area varied from 1326.70 to 1513.87 km~2 and accounted for 66.17% of the whole wetland on average and had decreased significantly at the rate of 7.21 km~2·a~(-1) since 2001. More than 90% of core area was marshland, and the proportion of marshland in buffer area and experimental area was reduced in turn. The interannual conversion among different types of marshlands was frequent in general. Farmland area varied from 281.80 to 364.65 km~2 and accounted for 16.42% of the whole wetland. It showed a significant increasing trend at the rate of 4.15 km~2·a~(-1), and most of that was distributed in the experimental area. Both the geographic centers of water body and farmland had the tendency of moving toward northeast. The geographic centers of the other land types fluctuated considerably in some years, but there was no obvious trend of aggregation or transfer on the whole. The small interannual fluctuation of meteorological factors would be more favorable to the maintenance and development of water and marshland. Temperature was the main driving factor of the change of landscape pattern in marshland with surface water, and water was the main driving factor in marshland without surface water.
