GIMMS NDVI3g data has been widely used by scholars both at home and abroad for the study of vegetation index because of its advantages of semilunar synthesis and long time series. This paper used the 1982-2013 year GIMMS NDVI3g data set in Henan and the data of 32 meteorological stations in and around the province, and adopted many methods about average, Kriging interpolation, correlation analysis and so on to analyze the correlation between the vegetation index and the main meteorological factors (temperature, rainfall) in Henan Province in the last 30 years. The results are as follows. (1) In the past 30 years, the average annual NDVI in Henan province was fluctuating upward trend, the annual growth rate of 0.002; the overall vegetation coverage increased. (2) In the environment of global warming, the annual average temperature increased significantly, with the average annual growth rate of 0.038; while the rainfall was decreasing year by year and it fell at an annual rate of 2.151. (3) The annual average NDVI was generally positively correlated with annual mean temperature change, and the annual variation of precipitation was lagging behind. (4) In the areas of poor vegetation cover, there was a high correlation between NDVI and temperature or rainfall. In the area of vegetation cover was good, the correlation between NDVI and temperature or rainfall was relatively low. The result can provide a theoretical reference for ecological restoration.
