Ice-snow is a common natural disaster, and it often causes huge damages to forests. The frequency and intensity of ice-snow damage tend to rise under the background of global warming. To provide a basis for the restoration of damaged forest ecosystems, this paper reviewed the change in soil physical and chemical properties, soil biochemical properties, soil microbial community and soil enzyme activity after ice-snow damage. It came up with the future research direction, including the long-term research on forest nutrient cycling, soil microorganism and soil seed bank after ice-snow disasters, the research on the interaction and working mechanism between soil microbial community, soil respiration and soil physical and chemical properties, monitoring post-disaster changes in soil under different site conditions using 3S techniques, establishment of a more scientific and accurate assessment system for damaged forest ecosystems, and setting up ecological restoration models to predict forest restoration process after ice-snow damage.
