Loess Plateau is one of the areas with the most serious soil erosion in the world. The Loess Plateau has a steep slope,a high degree of fragmentation and a complex water erosion model. The situation of soil erosion is extremely serious. The soil erosion prediction model will provide the basis for macro decision of small watershed comprehensive management and land use planning, and provide a reference for the effective evaluation of water and soil conservation effects in small watersheds. This paper compares and analyzes the applicability of commonly used numerical simulation models in the simulation of soil erosion processes on the Loess Plateau. The results show that the physical model can more effectively simulate the various processes of soil erosion and sediment transport. Therefore, it has the ability to predict future scenarios and explain the response to climate change, human activities and soil erosion, which provides a theoretical basis for realizing the erosion dynamic simulation of different scale basins.
