China's vegetable prices rose and dropped suddenly and sharply, which caused wide spread concerns. This paper analyzed the characteristics of China's vegetable prices, examined the problems of China's vegetable prices, and proposed some suggestions to stabilize vegetable prices in China. Results show that: 1) seasonal fluctuations of producer price, wholesale price and retail price were significant with an increasing trend in the long run; 2) China's vegetable price had three problems, including rising and dropping suddenly and sharply caused by abnormal climate, reduction of suburban vegetable land and information asymmetry, producers' profits were lower than that of middlemen when prices rose caused by rising vegetable production cost, less power to determine price for producers and excess vegetable production capacity, and spreads between vegetable producer price and consumer price were expanding caused by regional separations between production and consumption and too many middlemen involved in vegetable circulation. Based on factors analysis and to stabilize vegetable prices in China, this paper suggests: to strengthen the construction of infrastructure, to protect suburban vegetable bases, to establish vegetable information platform, to reduce production cost by technology, to empower producers to price, to regulate vegetable scale and structure, to encourage local production, and to innovate vegetable circulation patterns.
