Biomass burning is an important climate forcing factor and pollution source that affects air quality. As a big province of agroforestry, crop straw and rich forest resources, research and analysis of biomass combustion conditions in Heilongjiang Province can benefit for the comprehensive utilization of straw resources, forest fire prevention, and environmental quality improvement.Temporal and spatial distribution characteristics of biomass burning spots are analyzed based on the MODIS sensor data, land use data and altitude data of the Heilongjiang Province in 2010-2017.The results showed that the fires in Heilongjiang Province are mainly concentrated in Songnen Plain,Sanjiang Plain and the north-central part of Xiaoxingan Mountain.Hehe City fire accounted for 30%of the total fire, followed by Qiqihar, accounting for 16%.Straw burning fires accounted for 68%of the total fires, forest fires 32%.The annual fire point was the most obvious in spring and autumn, showing a double peak distribution. The ratio of fire points in spring and autumn was 51%and 45%respectively. Since 2010,the number of forest and grassland fires has fluctuated less. The number of straw burning fires has increased significantly since 2014.In 2016,the number of non-burning fires under the implementation of the no-burning policy has been controlled, and the number of burning fires in autumn decreased, but it still shows an increasing tendency in spring.
