英文摘要: In the version of this Article originally published, the right-hand y-axis label ‘∆O2 (mmol m–3)’ in Figs. 3a,b and 4a–d was incorrect and should have read ‘Concentration (mmol m–3)’. The label for the colour scale bar for Fig. 3c,d ‘O2 saturation (%)’ was also incorrect and should have read ‘∆O2 (mmol m–3)’.
