英文摘要: Key Points The Dilution-Recoupling Theory (DRT) computes biomass accumulation rates from depth-integrated biomass in autumn and winter but from surface concentration in spring This formulation is valid during autumn and winter. Hence the DRT provides a useful explanation of winter ecosystem functioning This formulation is invalid during spring. As a consequence, the DRT does not provide an explanation for the evolution of the spring bloom. ©2013. American Geophysical Union. All Rights Reserved.
