Thermoplegia which is also known as severe heat stroke, is a fatality emergency with acute onset, high disability rate and high mortality. With global warming and the frequent occurrence of extreme weather more recently , the incidence of thermoplegia become more significant which has drawn the concern of the whole society. This article reviewed the new advance in pathogenesis and treatment of thermoplegia. We hope this article to provide a reference for clinical work.
